During my stay, I found the retro-styled room spacious and relatively well-equipped. The quirky décor, reminiscent of student accommodations, might not align with everyone’s preferences, yet it created a distinctive charm. The room included basic kitchen facilities and a communal kitchen—an excellent touch for those planning to prepare simple meals. The hotel features a bar and restaurant below, serving good food at reasonable prices, adding to its value proposition. While the absence of a lift may pose a challenge for some, it’s manageable who prioritize a distinctive experience over luxury. Café Modern is a cost-effective choice, particularly for budget-conscious travellers eager to explore Amsterdam’s historical offerings.
